someone stole my car antenna last nite (please don't worry, mom). i mean, good grief, is there actually a market for stolen antenna's? it's not like this was even the kind you can just walk up to and unscrew - they had to fish that bad boy out (it's one of those retracting kinds)! i discovered it today when i flipped the radio on and wondered how it could be that every station was off the air. i was imagining that the radio towers must have collapsed or been carried away by texas floods until i finally looked out the windshield and saw that my car had a case of Antenna Absentee. the deviant mind and it's simple pleasures never cease to amaze me.

but while i'm talking about antennas, let's discuss those disturbing little jack-in-the-box heads or other similar antenna accessories. although the retractable antenna is a nice feature, i've always felt a little cheated that i couldn't partcipate with the rest of society in placing strange round-ish objects on my antenna. i suppose i could put the ball on when the radio was in use, but then i'd have to jump out of my car and remove the ball every time i wanted to turn off the radio or shut off the car. not a practical solution really.

fortunately for me, i don't have to face these antenna issues anymore seeings as how i don't have one. what a blessing in disguise that a 15 year-old with too much idle time removed the object of concern.
