i am home alone and cannot seem to stop singing complainte de la butte, as sung by rufus wainwright on the moulin rouge soundtrack. the song is in french and i don't really know the words, so i'm just making up a lot of exaggerated "laaaa laaa la la laaaaaaa's" in my best rufus/french voice. it could be worse.

i had a similar problem yesterday while listening to the gypsy kings - i recognize the phrase "cada dia" and sing it each time it rolls around (which it does with surprising frequency), but it's just not a fulfilling sing-along. i've got to brush up on my french and spanish.
