i just had my first solo movie-going experience and it was grand. i've always wondered about the kind of people that go to out to movies or dinner alone - were they really friendless, really anti-social, or just really secure with themselves? i will question these people no more, for i am now one of them.

i moseyed into the theatre during the previews, sat in the big fat middle with my medium popcorn & large coke, and then proceeded to have one of my most enjoyable cinematic experiences to date. i didn't have to plan around anyone else's schedule. i didn't have to consider what someone else wanted to see. i didn't have to share my popcorn. it was gloriously selfish and gloriously superb.

since i am a fairly social bird, i think i'll continue to see the majority of movies with at least one other buddy, but i will no longer be afraid to go alone and might just even look forward to the next time...
