i was wrong. it was not the backpack (although the backpack was likely in close proximity). it was the pillow - that's right, the pillow i bought at pier 1. that's what the cat used as a litter box and i've been unwittingly tossing it on my bed ever since. can you dry clean a pillow? would it help? i may be buying a new pillow before 2017 after all.
