Mission #14: The Grand Finale Biathalon!
Today we separate the EGO Champions from the losers!
Simply choose TWO of the following events…and let the final EGO office fun commence!
(NOTE: If anyone actually completes ALL of today's Missions, you will be rewarded. All posts must be received before 10:00 p.m. May 9, 2003 to be included in the final 2003 EGO judging.)
PART A: Wait-lifting
"Weightlifting consists of two movements executed in a standard order: first the snatch and then the clean jerk. EGO "wait-lifting" will consist of snatching an item (phone, folder, pen, ruler, sandwich, etc.) off the desk and clean-jerking it up over your head, holding for a minimum of 5 seconds, and then replacing it. This may be performed throughout the day at will-- but should always be executed anytime you are "waiting." (i.e. when holding on the phone; waiting for a response; when someone is waiting on you; when waiting in line…) Remember, your technique and individualized style will be a big factor in the judge's scoring.
PART B: Gymnastics (Take your pick.)
1. The Floor Exercise - The floor routine must be choreographed to music, lasting between 7 – 10 seconds and covering the entire office floor area. The quality of grace may be disguised by movements of playful theatrics, but judges will look for a dancer-like command of music, rhythm and space.
2. Rhythmic gymnastics:
a. Rhythmic Apparatus: Paper
Paper routines are comprised of snakes, spiral, swings, circles, throws and catches, and figure-eight movements. When holing any paper, the paper must remain constantly in motion.
b. Rhythmic Apparatus: Pencil
Common movements with the pencil include swings, large circles, small circles, mills, throws and catches, and rhythmical tapping.
