it's been just one new year's eve ago that i attended a stranger's wedding at another stranger's home. the man performing the ceremony said we could get a "2 for 1 special" if my date and i were ready to tie the knot. thankfully, the discussion was interrupted by a drunken front-yard fight with the neighbors. these were high-quality folks. fortunately, none of them became my in-laws.
