i took my little sister* to see a matinee showing of win a date with tad hamilton! we were the only people in the theatre. this was not terribly surprising (really, would you want to see this movie?) and was somehow reminiscent of the last movie i saw where my friends and i were the only patrons: big top pee-wee. having the entire theatre to oneself does afford certain benefits. for example, we were able to practice our hand puppets on the big screen (my rabbit still needs a good deal of work). we also briefly attempted a contest to see who could sit in every single seat the fastest. both of us being a bit out of shape, we tired by the third row and abandoned that adventure to slide down the handrails instead. we stretched frequently throughout the film, changed seats a few times, and belched loudly at least once. though i am not above such crass behavior, i can proudly report that the latter did not come from me. at any rate, we enjoyed ourselves immensely, in spite of the movie.
* term "little sister" should not infer blood relations, but something more along the lines of an unofficial big/little program. at the risk of over-explaining, it just seems that "my little sister" is an easier and less creepy term to use than "my special eleven year old friend."
