today is the last day of my twenties. tomorrow is the first day of the rest of my life. go ahead and flip on your greenday cd and we'll hit a few highlights of the decade:

  • graduating from college.

  • getting my first "real" job.

  • quitting my first "real" job (and several others thereafter).

  • living with some of my best friends.

  • still having those friends.

  • never moving outside the tarrant county line, despite eight different addresses.

  • making strong headway on an odd lifetime goal.

  • seeing the grand canyon.

  • figuring out what some of my passions are.

  • learning what some of my passions are not.

  • owning my own business.

  • getting a tax refund. once.

  • drooling over, saving for, and purchasing my guitar.

  • visiting spain.

  • driving through lots of america.

  • finding love.
if i had to sum up the decade, i'd say that it's been a long search for who i am and what the heck i should be doing. it's been a lot of trial and error. so, here i am at the end. i can proudly say that i still don't know what color my parachute is and, frankly, i've decided i don't really care. even in the "not knowing," my life has moved forward under the providence of God's care. and with that i am satisfied. a little restless sometimes, but satisfied.

come on thirties, i'm ready.
