at this moment i am watching preseason football and reading football for dummies online.

on many a cold day i have enjoyed taking a nap to the comforting drone of a football game turned down low. i have found, however, that nap osmosis has failed to teach me much about the actual game. to this end, i am attempting to learn a few basics so that i can enjoy football awake almost as much as i do asleep.

in case any of you are also "dummies," i'll pass along the most interesting factoid i learned today: jersey numbers correspond to field positions. how very clever!
